DADA by Vibhor Tikiya : A Review
On The Jacket –
This
was the first thought in my mind when I set foot at the prestigious Premiere
Institute of Technology. There was enough reason for me to think that way. I
was an out and out rebel. I never followed rules. I never respected the system.
I cheated, manipulated and was headed to no-man’s land. They were probably
worried I would take a few more with me. And then, I met my friends and things
started to change. I started believing in dreams and became who I am today. I
guess I was destined to become John, Divya and Vivek’s DADA. Maybe,
relationships do transform lives. In my case, they did.
I’ve had my share of ups and downs in life. I have experienced the joy of gaining new friends and the loss of people who held me close. I’ve seen concrete foundations reduced to ruins and experienced the joy in making dreams out of rubble.
But through everything, I’ve loved my life. I am DADA and this is my story...

Now, Review Time –
Story
is about protagonist DADA who once was brilliant student in primary school but
ends up getting 45% marks in 12th. And then by faking certificates
gets admission in PIT, one of the most prestigious colleges. And then college
life starts. He meets with new friends, makes gang, fights, booze, cheat in
exams. They do every possible thing which one can do in his/her college life.
Sometimes it brings memories of your own college days. It will remind you of
your college days.
Author
has done a good job with storyline. Characterization is weak. Author should
have worked on characters as they should come to life when one read the book.
But author failed here big time. Some incidents are really hard to believe. They
seem totally out of scene. No one can believe them. And author lacks in
conversation part. Conversation could have been more humorous and interesting.
It is written in very simple, yet effective language as everyone can relate himself with it. Book should have been cut by almost 50 pages. At some places, story went very slow which disappoints a bit. It seems boring at places as it fails to hold your attention for long. But over all, it keeps you hooked.
It’s humorous and witty. I would like to rate it
3.5/5. It is good read for weekend. You can give it a try!
