Now, Review Time –
I
find Indian mythology rich and interesting. And Business Sutra is one of kind book which uses
mythologies, stories, symbols drawn from Hindu, Jain and Budhist mythologies to
convey it's message. And I
loved every moment that I spent reading this book as I’m also preparing for
CAT.
Book
has some 436 pages and it is divided in three sections. In first section ,
Introduction – he describes about book, his life and interest in mythology. It
also gives a background about the book how it got written.
In
second section, “Goal To Gaze” author describes various beliefs. And In the
third section “Bussiness Sutra”, It is divided into five sub – sections. In
this section, There come illustrations and at the end of each sub-section, a
very small and smartly written grey box is there which connects the quote with
a real life situation to make a reader understand.
The book
makes an interesting read. The book is filled with interesting and uplifting
stories from mythology. And the major attraction in the book is the pictures
that are hand drawn. It makes it an easy read and understanding.
It is a very well researched and well written
book. You don't have to be from a business background to read and understand
this book. The author gives constant references to Vishnu, Shiva,
Krishna, Brahma, Indra, Ganesha and other gods in the Indian pantheon,
illustrating their traits, strengths and weaknesses, and context set certain
incidents in the present-day workplace scenario. The writing style is good and interesting.
Final Verdict –
The author's writing style is simple, and
easily understandable. Hats
Off to Devdutt Pattanaik for this one. Till now I used to just love the way he
writes but now I admire his thoughts and writings much more than I did before .
I would like it rate it 4 out of 5. I would like to recommend this book to
those who love reading mythologies and have interest in business. It worth
every penny.
