The Inferno - A Thought Fire By Kanishk Banka

Book Blurb -

The volcano has to erupt.

It is a matter of time when it does and all that comes under the shadow of its burning ashes...

Sikander is a pious Muslim, who is a wrong person in the wrong place.

Siddharth, rebel at heart with no aim in life.

Zaina, a silent spectator of fate’s play.

The three lives search their identities in the streets of Delhi...Will they come under the fire too? They will....

As the quagmire of religious fanaticism and games of politics merge, the three lives collide, leading them to raise their voices against social illusions and sink deeper in their inner conflicts of personal desires and social responsibilities.

An Inferno, which threatens to consume love, lives, peace and ideals...

"Power, politics, terrorism, society and the youth!!!"

"The book is dedicated to the youth and the turbulence in their young and revolutionary minds...” Times of India

"The Inferno reflects a social situation where politics and religion are sovereign...”
"Kanishk Banka - debuting on a serious note...” Hindustan Times

"Today's youth does not just want to read just about love stories & relationship; politics, terrorist attacks,  extremist elements in the society, are also the issues youth think about. This is depicted in The Inferno..." Dainik Bhaskar

Why I chose such a topic and subject -

The social conditions always ignited in me a rebel. Having studied sociology and psychology, I have always been fascinated and troubled by all the social issues and situations and human mind. A revolutionary thought remained ignited. Then the sad 26/11 happened. Terrorism as a whole made me think hard. Thus, the seeds of my first novel were sown. It is an upcoming series in which I will try to come up with the right interpretation of things as they are.

Besides this, I had always intended that my words make people think. The fiction books I saw in market were all about love and relationships. I felt that it was unfair to deal with just one aspect of the multi-dimensional youth of our country. In a literary from, I intended to present social scenarios and involve people in it at a physical and intellectual level. The idea is make people see the reality and make them think about what is right and wrong without prejudice and bias.

This is his first book of the series based on the theme of Jihad.

Eventually his two stories got published in national magazine. English literature pulled him now more even aggressively. Thesocial conditions always ignited in him a rebel. A revolutionary thought sparked in him. Then the sad 26/11 happened. Terrorism as a whole made himthink hard. Thus the seeds of his first novel were sown. It’s an upcoming series which will try to come up with the right interpretation of things as they are.

He aims to come up with English literature of mettle, which has sadly disappeared from our literary scenario.
