Ghupshup with Anurag Garg and Gunjan Narang
Anurag
Garg is not yet a Bachelor of Technology, he's a not so sincere
student of Bharti vidyapeeth's college of engineering, New Delhi. After being
an unknown pass-out from St Xavier's school and having tried a hand at
journalism, he finally found his forte in writing. Simple living and plenty
eating is his funda in life.
Random thoughts, eligible to be put together in the form of a storyline dragged him to his destiny. Young for his thoughts, he loses himself to them and lives in his fly-by-night imaginations. A little shy to girls, he is a family guy, who believes in learning from every experience. Photography being his field of interest, he also finds himself close to the nature. A keen follower of spirituality and Humanism! He can be reached at facebook
Gunjan Narang is an aspiring educationist, polishing her mind and teaching skills at Miranda House. Assuming that she was never born to be a teacher, fell in love with the profession, and faced a similar accident in case of writing. Writing, to her, is a means of influencing masses. A sudden encounter with a friend brought her into realization of a hidden spark in her and here she is, with her first recognized work. Optimism and perseverance are the essence of her life. Sensitized towards various social issues, she plans to write about them in near future. Rational and skeptic in approach, she believes not only in dreaming but also in accomplishing those dreams. Honest in expression and rebellious at heart. She can be reached at facebook

In a candid
conversation with Alka Shrivastava , they are sharing their experiences of journey
of literature world.
Congratulations to you both, Anurag and Gunjan, to winning
hearts of millions through the success of the half baked story. How are you
feeling?
Gunjan: I won’t say I am on cloud nine. If I have said that earlier, pardon me. But I am happy I have begun to write and the work is being appreciated.
Anurag: Thank you. I am glad of course, as the first step was difficult being an outset. The second step will be more difficult, as it will be a responsibility this time. So, I am gearing up for the same in high spirits.

Tell us in brief about the story for our readers?
No summary can give the essence of the story. We’d suggest, give it a read. ;)

The story unravels through a roller coaster life of Aarav and his
first sight love “anamika”. Is it totally fiction or inspired by your campus
life?
Blends are the most beautiful things in life. Colors and stories come out best when blended. I think that should explain our point.

How the
idea to work together came into you mind. How the co-ordination was
established?
The idea of working together was mutual. Co-ordination, umm…we had very similar writing styles. Looks like they merged well with ease!

Anurag, we would like to listen from you that how suddenly your
destiny stepped into literary world. Was there any pre-inclination?
There was no pre-inclination as such. My writing was confined to the essays and articles, I used to write in childhood for school assignments. Later in life, a few experiences led me to jot them down, that fortunately turned up as a full-fledged book in some or the other way. But now, I’d like to write with a vision to experience, which is completely contrary to what I did in the past.

What interests Anurag in his leisure time?
Envisaging weird fictional plots J , reading, writing poems, music or may be watching movies. I’m a movie freak.

Gunjan, tell us your tale of journey from an aspiring teacher to a
sensational romantic fiction writer?
Haha! Sensational ‘love’ fiction writer, I’d prefer it without the label ‘romance’. It sounds constrained. ;)
So, this aspiring teacher used to write some short unpublished articles in her childhood that sometimes found place in school magazines. And when approached with an idea of writing a Book, after a hearty laugh, she took the task and here she is. TADAAA!

Gunjan, as you are teaching skills, do you think books are means to
influence masses? Tell us you views in such respect?
Books are a storehouse of knowledge. They are the inspiring experiences of their characters. Knowledge and experiences are such infectious substances. Why wouldn’t they influence anyone? They provoke thoughts and that is the least they do. Big changes emerge from small thoughts, my friend. :)

Anurag if you will get an opportunity to write a book again, which
book you would like to draft in your own way?
I think for every writer, his or her creation is just like their own baby (tolerate, if I’m exaggerating). So, tweaking someone’s book again is not in favor of its predefined essence.
“A half baked love story”… how such an appetizing title came into your mind?

“A half baked love story”… how such an appetizing title came into your mind?
Anurag says “Well, being a foodie, it has to be the title. ;) Though, it seriously came out from nowhere even before we started writing the book. We came up with other countless options in the meantime. Perhaps, it was destined to be appetizing.”
What are your future plans? Are you working on your next book?
Gunjan: Future is such an uncertain territory. For the time being, I am giving myself some time with some great books. There is a lot to learn.
Anurag: “Today is where your book begins, the rest is still unwritten!”
To be honest, I always have something to write, my random-coherent-thoughts I mean. But, the thing is that how much organized I’m, to do justice with it. So, to write worthy, I need to read worthy. Hope, I will do the justice to my thoughts by means of analogous expressions for it, someday. Fingers crossed :)
What kind of responses you are getting from media and readers?
Fortunately, no one has come up to us with a negative feedback. Responses have been very encouraging and positive.

Gunjan, what kind of responses you are getting from your students?
My students are happy about it. Most of them have not read it though, they being too young for the genre. But those who’ve read it drag me into conversations about it while I teach them, and flatter me with compliments.

Thanks a ton, Anurag and Gunjan for such a pleasant meeting. Wishes
to you both for long miles journey ahead from Read in Park team.
Thank you for your wishes. Peace and love to all.
