Dinner Date by Ishaan Lalit : A Review

On The Jacket –

Sam Thomas, today he is a charming, well-dressed, successful lawyer, but he was not always so. He was a goofy, clueless, awkward young man. The first time a beautiful girl kissed him, he ran away screaming, which led to the rumours that he was gay. When he tried to put the rumours to sleep, he only ended up getting into worse trouble and got beaten up by the schools gymnastics team. Dinner Date is the story of one evening, when Sam recounts his story and tells of how he and his friends, Ram and Rohit, go from one fiasco to another in their law school, from almost getting expelled to meeting his estranged godfather, to falling in love with the Deans daughter. The trio fumbles through all the obstacles comically. Dinner Date is a love caper, set amidst moot courts, law school, politics and family secrets.

Now, Review Time –

Now days, I have been very choosy when it comes to reading books as every book have same story and eventually it disappoints me. And I avoid reading chic – lit. And it’s a good thing that now a days many authors coming with different stories instead of repeating mushy love stories. And this book serves you good romance and humor.

I would not like to go to story as it will spoil the charm of reading it. Author has amazed me with his writing style. His narration skills are awesome. Conversations and scenes are witty and hilarious. Good thing about book is it unfolds twists one by one. And with every turning page, I was excited to know what is going to happen on next page. And it never seems like author is stretching the story. Author has successfully managed to maintain the humor quotient of his book. It makes you laugh out loud. Author has great sense of humor and he has shown it in book pretty well. The plotting of the novel is good. Story is set in Law-School. Story is well knitted.

Verdict –

A Gripping book which doesn’t allow the reader to keep the book down until you finishes reading it. A complete page-turner. I would like to rate this novel 4.5/5. This book definitely worth a read.
