“An Excursion Of Insight” by Harsh Agarwal – A Review

On The Jacket –

Sonam was young of course, but this does not tell the story of just another young lad! Sonam did fall in love with Sarika, but this is not just another candid love endeavour! It all happened in an Engineering College Campus, but still it’s not just the tale of another Campus. Sonam, who had his own dreams and vision, came from the Land of Bhutan to India to pursue Engineering. A Buddhist (both by birth and faith), a little philosophical too, but the reader is not given a philosophical treatise on Buddhism. A story that takes you from the valleys and tea-gardens of Assam, to the hullabaloo of student life and eventually to an Excursion, An Excursion of Insight…

Review –

This story is about protagonist Sonam, a foreigner who comes to India to study engineering. The book is all about the experiences he faces while studying, choosing friends, falling in love and got cheated. Author has shown all the ups and down Sonam faces very beautifully
Author tells on back cover itself that it is not just another love story which happens in every Engineering College Campus. He has given good touch of philosophies and Buddhism. Yet another best thing about book is the description of tea-gardens of Assam. They are beautifully portrayed. Author has given bestest possible ending to the story.

The writing style is good. Good English is used. Story is well knitted. Every character comes live as you read the book. Every scene is well written. But when it comes to philosophies, book becomes little drab in between but again it picks the pace. This is one of those book which will make you think when you will finish reading it.

Events of love, friendship, philosophy and Buddhism are very beautifully written from the core of heart.

Verdict –

Harsh Agarwal has given a good novel. A complete page-turner and with a message in end. I would like to rate this novel 3.75/5. This book worth reading and I highly recommend this to everyone. You will enjoy it.
